I'm Bella Parker, and I've spent the last six years developing something I call Abstracting Realism (AR) - a storytelling technique that puts readers directly inside characters' minds. Instead of just reading about what characters think, you actually experience their consciousness through fragmented thought patterns.
"Five Minutes" is my debut psychological thriller using this writing system. It follows Sofia Stone, a struggling artist, and Ethan Kellerton, a powerful CEO, as their relationship unfolds against dangerous hidden threats. The story emerged from my personal journey to capture authentic human experience on the page.
My writing began with a simple question: "How do I describe the intangible so others will know what it feels like?" After years of organic development, AR became my answer.
The technique can be integrated at different levels from 20% to 90% depending on what each scene needs.
I also create digital art and am developing teaching methods for AR. My goal is to push storytelling boundaries and create deeper connections between readers and characters. Some beta readers say it feels like "being in a movie inside your head" or "more real than regular books."
I'm excited to share this new approach to storytelling and would love your honest feedback.

After six years in development, Abstracting Realism™ is ready to debut. This new genre breaks from traditional storytelling by blending raw emotional realism with layered, intuitive abstraction. Readers don’t just follow a plot, they feel, sense, and interpret the story from the inside out.
This isn’t just about reading. It’s about becoming part of something new. You’ll read one high-impact chapter or excerpt that blends emotion, abstraction, and realism, then answer a few short reflection questions. Your insights will directly influence the final development of this genre.
What you'll do:
• Read 1 powerful chapter or excerpt
• Answer 8 short questions (mandatory)
• Write a Comment (not mandatory)
What you're part of:
Your feedback helps shape the next wave of fiction. You’re not just reading, you’re helping redefine modern storytelling.
This is not a “test of your editing skills.” This is an invitation to engage as a real person, not a critic, to respond to a story built from lived experience, emotional layers, and human intuition.
Thank you for your participation. I sincerely appreciate your insight.

Five years ago, Sofia Stone lost everything without knowing why
.
Now, one unexpected knock on her door forces her back into the orbit of the one man she vowed never to trust again, Ethan Kellerton, a powerful CEO with secrets of his own.
When Sofia faces eviction, Ethan offers a lifeline: a contract, a studio, and a place to stay.
But nothing about his offer feels clean.
Nothing about his timing feels accidental.
As Sofia enters Ethan’s world of wealth, security, and danger, she begins to sense the truth: she wasn’t just unlucky… she was targeted.
And Ethan knows far more than he’s saying.
Caught between old wounds and new threats, Sofia is forced to confront a question she spent years avoiding:
Is Ethan her betrayer or the only person who ever tried to protect her?
With every chapter, the lines between fear, desire, loyalty, and manipulation blur.
Every choice twists tighter.
Every revelation cuts deeper.
And in the shadows around them, something dangerous is moving, something that will change both of their lives forever.
Five Minutes is a psychological thriller told through the immersive, thought-driven lens of Abstracting Realism™, pulling readers directly inside the characters’ minds as their truths unfold, and it feels like a "movie in your head."
Welcome to your story.
